Cancellation Policy

At Elegant Furniture, we sell both ready-to-despatch items and made-to-order or bespoke furniture, so cancellation terms differ depending on what you've ordered.

Ready-to-Despatch Items

Orders can be cancelled any time before dispatch. Once an item has been dispatched, it can no longer be cancelled, and our Returns & Refund Policy applies instead.

Made-to-Order and Bespoke Furniture

Each bespoke piece is built to your chosen size, fabric and specifications, so cancellation terms are stricter once work begins. If you cancel after production has started, a cancellation fee of 30% of the order value applies, covering materials, labour and administration already committed. The remaining balance is refunded where applicable. Once a piece is complete and ready for collection or despatch, it can no longer be cancelled.

Clearance Items

All clearance stock is sold as final sale and isn't eligible for cancellation, return, exchange or refund.

Lay-by Purchases

If you're paying by lay-by and miss your payment schedule, then choose to cancel; a 30% administration fee is deducted from your refund.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act, the Fair Trading Act or any other applicable law.
